Stranger Things on Netflix

Wow. That was really, really good. Well done, Netflix. Well done indeed.

It does make one wonder: what's the secret? Why is Netflix stuff so consistently good and the networks stuff such utter crap?

Been trying to formulate my thoughts on this Dallas situation ever since I heard about it and I keep coming back to "Not surprising." The way the rhetoric has ramped up, especially from the POTUS, about how American cops are racist, bigoted, and evil, I must admit that I've been expecting something like this for a while even as I hoped cooler heads would prevail. But alas, the current POTUS is, at heart, just a community agitator ... er ... "organizer" so he's been throwing nitroglycerin onto a simmering campfire. Early

Had to come in early today to cover for the morning tech support guy (really, I should just call him the tech support guy) who is off today since its Valentine's Day and his wife is going out of town later today. You know what? I fucking hate mornings. Getting up before 8 on Tuesday reminded me of this. Of course, on freaking Saturdays, I have zero problem waking up that early. Dammit.

Weight Loss, Day 4

Caffeine withdrawal symptoms have abated. Unfortunately, this means I'm pretty much just drinking water right now and ... blech. Well, water and the occasional beer thing ("Henry's Hard Soda Ginger Ale") which is slotted into my calorie count. Rah. Unfortunately, my weight scale is shit so I can no longer trust it. I literally saw ranges of 20 lbs when I weighed myself this a.m. - bounced between 248 (no way in hell I'm that light yet) and 270. That's absurd. So clearly, I need to get a more accurate one... Toying with joining a local gym as well, but man, I hate working out. Really, really, really hate it. Going to try to use just this calorie count and portion control thing for the time being but who knows? Maybe I'll suddenly find the energy to become the gym guy ... unlikely, but possible, I guess.
