So ...

Here we are. Good news: Hillary Clinton, the most corrupt and despicable politician in America, lost. That's fantastic news and at least prevents us from running full tilt toward even greater amounts of socialism. Unfortunately, it comes with bad news: Donald Trump won the election.

Think about that for a moment. Donald Trump is going to be the President of the United States. We have officially entered ... the Twilight Zone.

Look, I have no illusions about the amount of gridlock we're going to see going forward. All of the Democrats who cried foul when the Republicans blocked a judicial nominee are now going to be doing exactly that and not seeing anything wrong with it. For that matter, quite a lot of the Republicans in Congress are going to be doing the same thing to President Trump (and man, saying that makes me throw up a little in my mouth), which means he's going to fall back onto what Obama did to ram through crap that couldn't get proper legislation: more executive orders. The media is going to rediscover what its job actually is since the one with all of the things needing to be covered up (ala Hillary's emails, the utter (and promised) collapse of Obamacare, the positively abyssmal Obama economy) isn't in charge anymore. Overnight, the crap state of the nation is going to be Trump's fault ... despite the fact that Obama spent eight years shifting blame for the failures of his policies onto George W. Bush. There will be no wiggle room for Trump. None. If he starts backtracking or reneging on a promise, the media will pounce on this, probably with side-by-side comparisons of what he said previously, something they utterly refused to do for Obama or Clinton.

And that doesn't even take into account the foreign policy mess we're looking at. Obama's two terms have been a disaster in that regard, what with the collapse of Libya (Clinton's fault, by the way, since she pushed for it), the growth of ISIS/ISIL/Whatever the Hell They're Called, Turkey's collapse into totalitarianism ... which I don't think the current POTUS has even remarked on yet! And let's not forget Russia's return to prominence as a global threat (exactly as Romney said and was mocked for ... but I digress.) Unless President Trump - ugh. Threw up in my mouth again. - picks some really good people for SecState and the like (someone a helluva lot better than Kerry or Clinton who made a bad situation disastrous), I anticipate even more global conflict across the planet.

It is an ... interesting time to be alive, I suppose.
